Well lets see why people are down on it.
In PvP the range and real dmg output is basically the same given the 8th turret available on the Mega In PvP the AR rep bonus is unused giving the same basic buffer the Mega has. The use of Dual AR rep in PvP is situational and does not bring much to the table. Slowest targeting speed of all Gall BS's Basically in real use the Mega is cheaper and performs better 99% of the time. The Domi is more versatile and can be fit in a multitude of ways, not just a BB or Sniper
In PvE the AR rep bonus is overkill and in mission running the Domi is cheaper and faster in missions.
Simply put for the money it does not do anything better then the Mega or Domi. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

whoops type meant 8th turret on the Hype.
Yes the Hype can be fit to be slightly better in some situations, but not really cost effectively. If the Hype had the rep bonus to remote reps or recieving remote reps also then the ship makes sense. If Caldari can have their t3 be ECM, why does Gallante get a questionably marginally better t3 ship.
The hype does not suck far from it, but under the far majority of circumstances the Mega is better and cheaper alternative in PvP. The Hype also tends to get primaried more often due to rarity. In PvE there is not really a question as to which ship is better... The DOmi. Now under a rail gun only ship in PvE the Hype will do better then the Mega, which has PvE fitting issues with rails due to its cpu/grid. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Lows 1600mm rolled tungsten large armor repper 4 hardeners/2 hardener & 2 mag stabs based on enemy
meds med cap booster with 800's x2 stasis webber x2 100mn afterburner
Highs ion blaster cannons with antimatter/iridium 8x
rigs trimark auxilary x2
drones hobgoblins x5 hammerhead x4 ogre x1
I started with t1 then named then t2 then faction then deadspace as skills/isk allowed but kept same setup throughout. I kite all bs in room while drones take out frigs and cruisers. With falloff iridium charges can start hitting at 20k while I am burning towards the enemy bs. Once at 15k I can switch back to antimatter and keep hitting. once at 10k turn off burner and start webbing. While burning, every once and awhile a frig will get close to scram/web so I can dual web and be able to shoot to help out drones.
I don't use faction ammo but might try it when I run out of iridium/antimatter. I don't understand where it is expensive to use this setup. When looting a mission I get more 800's than I actually use. When doing missions you should be able to make 50-100m an hour (reward, bounties, loot, and salvage combined) If you are spending more than that you should go back to mining.
EDIT: Probably should mention I do missions in gallente space so most enemies are serpentis which usually are never too far away to kite.
This seems way over tanked, and why plate a PvE ship? ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |
